Simon and Garfunkel cancel tour that would have brought duo to Fargo

The Forum’s John Lamb has a story today that I’m guessing will upset many people in the region. Legendary folk duo Simon and Garfunkel have postponed their concert tour – AGAIN – meaning their July 11 show in Fargo is no more. That date was, in fact, a makeup concert for a show scheduled in May.

A news release issued late Thursday afternoon said singer Art Garfunkel’s vocal problems have persisted and the entire tour was shelved. While his doctors expect him to make a full recovery, a timetable is unpredictable.

The release included a statement from Garfunkel: “I do feel bad about disrupting so many people’s plans but, as I continue to mend, I can’t yet bring my ‘A game’ to a tour, and I would not perform for you with anything less.”

You can get a refund for the July 11 Fargodome show at the place you purchased tickets.
